Raipur.Chhattisgarh government has appointed nodal officers for the security and maintenance of ‘Krishna Kunj’. Special focus will be given to regular review, security, and maintenance of Krishna Kunj.
Meanwhile, in a bid to motivate people to plant trees and save our cultural heritage, Chhattisgarh Government has undertaken an initiative to develop ‘Krishna-Kunj’ in all urban bodies across the state. The plantation of culturally significant and other valuable trees is being done here. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched this ambitious scheme on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtmi by planting a sapling of the Kadamb tree at Krishna Kunj located in Telibandha, Raipur. Besides, tree plantation was done at all the Krishna Kunj across the state with public participation.
Krishna Kunj is being built in all the urban bodies of the state on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel with the aim of saving the existence of trees that are disappearing due to urbanization in the last few years, leading to the indiscriminate felling of trees. The initiative also aims to aware the forthcoming generations the importance of these trees. Plantation of culturally significant trees like Banyan, Peepal, Kadamb, and other useful trees like mangoes, tamarind, plum, Ganga imli, Jamun, Mulberry, Tendu, Chironji, Pomegranate, Palas, Guava, Sitaphal, Bel, and Amla is being done here. Besides, continuous work is being done by the state government for environmental protection and conservation. In keeping with this spirit, about 2 crores 20 lakh saplings are being planted across the state to go green and build a greener tomorrow.
